Lenten Sunday Evening
Experiences On Sunday evenings this Lent we will have opportunities for you to stop in the business of life and be quiet. The Labyrinth – a centuries old prayer practice, will be open and available. Come experience and learn. This experience often takes several times before an experience “results” from it. Some have said that you keep walking until you meet God. Open Communion – In the Sanctuary there will be communion available at the altar, along with prayers and meditations for you. Episcopal Prayer Beads – Prayer beads have been in use throughout the entire history of Christianity as well as many other world religions. Prayer beads will be available along with a guide for their use. Prayer Stations – Prayer stations give a person a tangible experience of prayer. At a prayer station you have the opportunity to physically do something as prayer, instead of just speaking. This might involve art, writing, kneeling, reading, or another specified act (i.e. dropping a stone in water.) along with relevant symbolism. Fasting Guides – A time where you can stop and learn about how you can increase your dependence on God, and thus increase your faith in God. Pastoral Prayer – 5:00-6:00p – Pastor Tim will be available for one on one prayer with you. This is a time where you can come for prayer, anointing for healing, or reconciliation (forgiveness). These experiences are meant to be done individually, but you are welcome to come in larger groups and move throughout the different experiences. |
